| dc.description.abstract | El camote, una planta humilde y a menudo subestimada, ha sido históricamente un salvador en tiempos de crisis y un alimento fundamental en diversas culturas alrededor del mundo. En este manual, nos proponemos resaltar la importancia del cultivo de Ipomoea batatas, no solo desde una perspectiva agronómica, sino también por su valor social, nutricional y económico. Este libro surge como una respuesta a la creciente necesidad de conocer a fondo los métodos de producción sostenible y eficiente de esta raíz, en un contexto donde los recursos naturales son cada vez más limitados. Desde nuestra experiencia en el campo, hemos observado cómo el camote se adapta a diferentes ecosistemas y su capacidad para resistir condiciones adversas. Este manual tiene como objetivo ofrecer a los agricultores, estudiantes e investigadores una guía detallada que pueda servirles de referencia para mejorar sus prácticas de cultivo, obteniendo mejores rendimientos y, al mismo tiempo, contribuyendo a la seguridad alimentaria. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Sweet potato, a humble and often underestimated plant, has historically been a savior in times of crisis and a staple food in various cultures around the world. In this manual, we aim to highlight the importance of Ipomoea batatas cultivation, not only from an agronomic perspective, but also for its social, nutritional and economic value. This book arises as a response to the growing need to thoroughly understand the sustainable and efficient production methods of this root, in a context where natural resources are increasingly limited. From our experience in the field, we have observed how sweet potato adapts to different ecosystems and its ability to withstand adverse conditions. This manual aims to offer farmers, students and researchers a detailed guide that can serve as a reference to improve their cultivation practices, obtaining better yields and, at the same time, contributing to food security. | |
