Abstract
El propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la relación entre la contaminación por residuos sólidos y la imagen turística del distrito de Imperial, Cañete - 2023. Este distrito, ubicado en la costa central del Perú, destaca por su encanto, historia y tradiciones arraigadas. Se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básico, con un nivel descriptivo- correlacional y un método hipotético-deductivo, utilizando un diseño no experimental de corte transversal. Los resultados, obtenidos mediante la prueba de correlación de Spearman, arrojaron una significancia de 0,00 (p < 0,05) y un coeficiente de correlación de 0,587, lo que indica una relación significativa de nivel positivo moderado entre la contaminación por residuos sólidos y la imagen turística. Se concluye que la presencia de residuos sólidos afecta negativamente la percepción estética del distrito, constituyendo un problema persistente que perjudica su atractivo turístico, y que dicha situación se ve agravada por la falta de conciencia ambiental tanto de las autoridades como de la población local.
The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between solid waste pollution and the tourist image of the district of Imperial, Cañete - 2023. This district, located on the central coast of Peru, is known for its charm, rich history, and deep-rooted traditions. A quantitative approach was used, of a basic type, with a descriptive- correlational level and a hypothetical-deductive method, employing a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The results, obtained through Spearman’s correlation test, showed a significance level of 0.00 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.587, indicating a significant, moderately positive relationship between solid waste pollution and the tourist image. It is concluded that the presence of solid waste negatively affects the aesthetic perception of the district, representing an ongoing issue that undermines its tourist appeal, further exacerbated by the lack of environmental awareness among both local authorities and residents.
